The Pennsylvania Game Commission recently made an historic land purchase of over 9,000 acres. This land will be added to state game land #087 and this property will be well over 10,000 acres. The 2011 season will be the first season this NEW LAND is open to the public. Clearfield County is regularly in the top ten counties in the state for whitetail deer, bear and turkey harvests. While whitetail populations have been down across all of central Pennsylvania for the last few years, Clearfield County is now coming back strong, and the quality of our whitetail bucks is far better than it has ever been.
